Weather you are training for looks, or sports performance, it is very important to understand that what you do outside of the gym will determine what kind of results you will get.
By training, you are “damaging” the muscle, creating micro traumas on muscle fibers. Straight after that, it’s time to recover this ripped muscle fibers and make the muscle grow. The best ways to do this is to prioritize sleep-8 hours of good quality sleep, and by eating good quality food.
And yes, it is simple as that. Probably you were looking for a big secret, magic pill, something special that professional athletes are using. But actually, it is that simple. And this is the only proper way, that will make real results that will stay.
Sleep Good!
Trying to keep yourself in good energy levels by stuffing yourself with coffee, but not sleeping enough, and not sleeping proper hours (because 8 hours of sleep are not just any 8 hours you pick in the day.. yes, it’s night sleep, from 10 pm, throughout the night), will do you more harm than good, and it is not a solution.
Even if you are in bad routine currently, and your sleep schedule is messed up, there is a solution for that. For the best results, professional athletes are trying to maintain what nature gave is. When the sun is going down, its gradually becoming darker, and our body slowly starts producing melatonin- hormone that helps us fall asleep.
No Blue Light in Night
But then, 21st century came, and we all kept looking at different kind of screens- phones, laptops, etc. that is interrupting our natural melatonin production. This is making it more difficult for us to fall asleep at a proper time. In order to change this, it would be great to stop looking at the screens earlier in a day, about 2 hours before going to bed. This is pretty difficult to do, I know. It’s good that there is more solutions to that. You can use blue light blocking glasses, that will stop blue light reaching your eyes, and also the phones have options of switching off the blue light.

This is just few tips that may help, but at the end of the day, nothing can do the trick if you don’t make a decision and get disciplined.
